I am a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying with a background in psychology and nursing, dedicated to supporting individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. My clinical experience spans over a decade of working with diverse populations, including those facing complex mental health concerns, dementia care, and palliative care.
My research experience resides in neuropsychology and developmental psychology. I have focused extensively on how adversity and stress impact individuals across the lifespan. This work led me to explore mindfulness-based approaches, including meditation and yoga, and their potential to reduce anxiety, depression, and disordered eating among low-SES youth.
My academic and clinical interests extend to the intersection of psychology, spirituality, and human suffering. I have presented at the Transforming Wounds into Wisdom: Interreligious Perspectives on Moral Injury conference at the University of Toronto, examining how Buddhist practices and teachings can offer meaningful perspectives on understanding and responding to psychological suffering.
At Origins Psychotherapy, your journey matters. I beleive that meaningful therapy begins with feeling genuinely heard, supported, and understood. I strive to create a space where you can explore your experiences with curiosity and without judgment.
My approach is grounded in the belief that understanding ourselves, our emotions, our relationships, and the experiences that have shaped us can open space for meaningful change. Together, we can explore what lies beneath the challenges you are experiencing. My role is not to tell you who you are or how to live, but to accompany you as we make sense of your experiences and the patterns that have developed over time.
The therapeutic relationship itself can offer an opportunity to notice how familiar patterns of relating emerge in the present. By paying attention to what unfolds between us, we can develop greater awareness of these patterns and consider different ways of understanding and responding to yourself and others. I strive to help create space for the different, and sometimes conflicting, parts of our experience while remaining curious about the emotions and relational patterns that shape our lives.
Our sessions are collaborative, active, and deeply relational. I invite you to begin this journey with me as we explore your story, understand your origins, and make space for new possibilities.
